Don McLean : UK Media Tour 8-13 Feb 2012 - Updated

Don McLean will receive a lifetime achievement award from the BBC on February 8th. Don is in England for the whole week and will make a number of media appearances including national TV (BBC and ITV). Here are the appearances we're allowed to announce:

WED FEB 8
6pm – BBC RADIO 2 – DRIVETIME WITH SIMON MAYO Live interview and two songs acoustic

7.30 – BBC RADIO 2 - FOLK AWARDS (part 1) Live telecast on BBC TV RED BUTTON Don will perform and receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at approx 8.15pm and will perform 2 songs immediately afterwards. Fans in the UK will be able to watch live either by pressing the Red Button from any BBC TV channel, or visiting the BBC Radio 2 website homepage at bbc.co.uk/radio2 or the official Don McLean website at don-mclean.com. The event will be shown from 7.30-10pm on Wednesday 8 February.

The show will also be available to listen to internationally via the Radio 2 homepage.

There'll be a live online conversation running throughout the programme at bbc.co.uk/radio2. People can comment via the Radio 2 homepage, or on Twitter using the hashtag #R2folkawards.

Video highlights will be put up on the Radio 2 website, including all performances, the day after the event, for 30 days internationally. This will also be embedded on don-mclean.com courtesy of the BBC.

There'll also be a highlights video available to watch on the BBC Red Button, from 9pm on Thursday 9 February.
