We’re pleased to tell you all that HYENA RECORDS released, DON McLEAN -- REARVIEW MIRROR, a definitive retrospective of the iconic singer-songwriter on October 11^th 2005. It’s an 18-track collection featuring loads of rare and unreleased recordings from over the years. It also contains the original hit recording of one of the best known and most adored songs in the history of American music, “American Pie.”  In addition, the set comes with a FREE bonus DVD, featuring among other things, home video footage of Don rehearsing with The Jordanaires.

The album is produced by Don McLean and Joel Dorn. Back in ’74, Joel Dorn produced Don’s Homeless Brother record. The two of them connected because Joel had previously produced “Killing Me Softly (With His Song)” for Roberta Flack, which was inspired by and written for Don. Ever since then they’ve been good buds.
